People gives different names for this art like, Rangoli in Karnataka, Kolam in TamilNadu, Mandana in Rajasthan, Chowkpurana in Chhattisgarh, Alpana in West Bengal, Muruja or Jhoti or Chita in Odisha, Aripana in Bihar, Chowkpujan in Uttar Pradesh, Muggu in Andhra Pradesh, Golam in Kerala and Aipan in Uttarakhand & others.
